CAPE C: Assembly inaugurates taskforce to decongest Metropolis
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly has inaugurated a taskforce made up of ten personnel drawn from the Ghana police service, Metro Works Department and Metro Guards from the assembly to aid the proposed decongestion situation in the Metropolis.

The taskforce which has commenced work is being mandated to ensure that traders who have stalls/stores within the refurbished Kotokuraba and Abura occupy them.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Ernest Arthur, the aim of the exercise is not only to decongest the township but also make sure sanitary measures are observed in the metropolis to avoid any disease outbreak.

He assured assembly’s readiness to ensure traders who do not have spaces are provided with one in order to improve commercial activities in the area.

The MCE also appealed to traders to cooperate with the taskforce in making the process a successful one.

On his part, the Central Regional Minister, Mr Kwamena Duncan cautioned the taskforce against corruption and asked them to work diligently with human face.
