Socio-Service Ghana, Ledzokuku collaborate to deal with menace of plastics
Socio-Service Ghana, a non-government organization specialized in management of plastic waste has joined the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly to help deal with the menace of plastics.

Madam Adjoa Annan the leader of the group in a meeting with the Assembly said the NGO would be in the Municipality for one year to help with management of plastic waste and much concentration would be given to Tuibloo, Akro west and East, Zongo and Lascala communities.

As part of the one year project, the group began undertaking baseline data collection to determine which areas matter most for the exercise.

She said they have started training environmental health officers who would be sensitizing the public on plastic waste management adding that the objective of the project is to promote sustainable plastic waste management in LEKMA.

Madam Adjoa Annan also stated that the involvement of environmental health officers has become necessary because they are the first point of call when it comes to waste management and disclosed that pickers would also be engaged from the communities to help pick waste plastics.

She further noted that a visit would be made to churches, mosques, schools, markets for sensitization by environmental health officers.
