New Juaben South cuts sod for Zongo Market Project
The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has held a ground breaking ceremony to commence a new ultra-modern lockable stores at the Koforidua Zongo market.

The project sought to decongest the Koforidua Central Business Town of human and vehicular traffic.

The occasion brought together high ranking and respectable people within the Zongo community, among them are the Regional Chief Imam and other Moslem leaders.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Appaw-Gyasi expressed satisfaction about the collaborative effort of the various heads of department, saying the Municipality will surely take its course.

He therefore urged all and sundry in the Municipality to pay their levies to the Assembly in order to carry on more projects within New Juaben South. He added, the Assembly cannot do any developmental projects if the citizenry failed to pay their levies.

According to the MCE, development has no political correlation, therefore all should endeavor to eschew political colours which sometimes drawback development and rather make room for development. He further called on the Moslem communities to support the smooth implementation of the project to achieve its intended purpose.

Since, all developments are expected to have an impact on the citizenry, the government as well as the Municipal Assembly is also expecting the project contractors to at least employ some unemployed youth within the community to boost economy.

Mr. Appaw-Gyasi mentioned, the ultra-modern Zongo market which has been awarded to three (3) different contractors is expected to expire in ten (10) months. The project consist of eighty (80) lockable stores would be supervised by the head of the Municipal Works Engineer.

The three (3) contractors involved in the construction of this project are Leonard’s Homes Limited, Samotrust Company Limited and Yusif Abdul Aziz Company Limited

In an interview with Samotrust Company Limited, a Ghanaian based contractor who was awarded with twenty (20) lockable stores pledged his support for a quality work in order to befit it purposes. He further cautioned colleague contractors to desist from shoddy works which will not help in the development of the country and will have future effect on citizenry.
