According to her, although the area has over the years been dominated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) during elections, the people are unable to get their share of the national cake anytime the party is power.

The MCE was speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony at Ullo to commence the construction of nine infrastructure projects in the municipality.

The projects include: CHIPS compound and nurses quarters at Deriyiri, 10-seater WC toilet at Han Market, borehole at Ping, construction of two unit nurses quarters, and extension of CHIPS at Tampaala, a 10-seater WC toilet at Jirapa SHS, and a 3-unit classroom block at Ullo Islamic JHS.

The projects, which are expected to be completed within four months, are being funded by the District Development Facility (DDF), with over 97, 0000 Ghana Cedis.

Hon. Christine said the projects form part of the government’s agenda to provide infrastructure development to the area. She stated that “the projects will go a long way to improve service delivery to the municipality.

The MCE opined that “education and health are the priorities of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This is therefore our commitment to make these two service areas more accessible”.

She admonished the beneficiary communities to give the needed support to the contractors to enable them to complete the projects on schedule.

Alhassan Suleimana, one of the contractors who is the CEO of Half Moon Ltd, assured the MCE and the people of quality work.

“We have a track record of good quality work and completing our projects on schedule. This will not be an exception.”

Naa Alhaji Baburonon Amadu Seidu II, Paramount Chief of the Ullo Traditional area, commended the MCE for working assiduously to bring the needed development to the area.

“We have seen many DCEs, but you are different. Since you came, I and my people have benefited from a number of projects. We can only be grateful to you and your government”.

Na Seidu pledged his support for the MCE to succeed.
