That was the situation at Akyem Akropong in the Atiwa district when the district Assembly handed over site and work started on a new school block for the community.

The construction of the new 3-unit classroom block estimated at GHC263, 482.28 and financed through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) will be done by Kafsap Enterprise.

The facility when completed will replace the existing structure which is in a bad state and raises concerns about the safety of the children.

The structure also comes with head teacher’s office, store room, as well as sanitary facilities including urinals and toilets for both teachers and students.

The project according to the district assembly is in line with infrastructure improvement at the education sector to create conducive environment for teaching and learning.
