N JUABEN: YEA presents bicycles to community police assistants
Twenty-four Community Police Assistants (CPA’s) under the Youth Employment Agency in Koforidua in the New Juaben Municipality have received twenty four (24) bicycles to aid their day to day activities in their various Communities.

The items presented by the Government of Ghana through the YEA were to enhance the performance of the CPA’s by making patrol in their localities and ensure peace and security in the country.

In a presentation, the Eastern Regional Coordinator of the YEA; Mohammed Pelpuo said the NDC government is committed to ensure the sustainability of the CPA’s in the country, that is why it has presented twenty four (24) bicycles to the first batch of CPA’s in the Municipality.

The Regional Director advised the recipients to demonstrate a culture of maintenance in order to benefit the future generations as well as serve its intended purposes.

According to Mr. Pelpuo the region was allotted with 394 bicycles to be distributed to 361 CPA’s beneficiaries across the region.  He added that out of the total number, the Municipality had it share of 24 bicycles.

He further added that, the government has putting plans in place to recruit the second batch of the CPA’s to reduce unemployment in the system.

For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben; Kwabena  Okyere Kusi commended the YEA for the gesture and asked the CPA’s to do their work with dedication, commitment and self-confidence to protect their communities.

“I entreat you all to work objectively which will signify hardwork and promotion into the regular service” he said.

In an interview with a beneficiary, Yakubu Nuria who expressed gratitude to the government and authorities of YEA said the items will go a long way to ease their transport cost and help them report early to work.
