Ga Central municipality moves to prevent flood disaster ahead of coming rains
As part of efforts to outwit heavy floods that always results in casualties in the Ga-Central Municipality in Accra during the rainy seasons, a five member committee constituted to survey and present a documented report for the commencement of emergency routine works in flood prone areas has presented their report for action.

The Urban Roads Engineer heads the team with the NADMO Coordinator, Works Engineer, Planning Officer and an assembly member who doubles as chairman of Anyaa Zonal Council as members.

The report covers most of the flood prone areas within the municipality including open drain project at Deseret Hospital, Abrantie, dredging works at Awoshie Lafa River but to mention few.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the assembly news team, Hon. Charles Ashalley Djane, the Municipal Coordinating Director for the Assembly and acting MCE, highlighted the fact that but for the June 3rd 2015 rain and gas explosion that claimed a number of lives during the same season, the Ga-Central Municipality, recorded the highest number of casualties nationwide hence the need for a proactive action to save lives and properties.

Mr. Ashalley Djane,is therefore  appealing to Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botwey the MP for the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency and Minister for Foreign Affairs to commit her support to the start of the projects to curb the situation ahead of the heavy down pour.
