Two Assemblies sign MOU to strengthen decentralization
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and Achiase District Assembly to help strengthen business and cultural ties between the two Assemblies.

The MoU is also expected to deepen decentralization among the two assemblies and also open avenue to further encourage and improve cooperation between the two assemblies in areas of institutional capacity building, education and cultural exchange.


Speaking at the ceremony, the Accra Mayor said “the visitation is an historic cooperation entered into by the AMA, again the signing of the MoU also covers areas such as studying mutual opportunities to facilitate the development of joint ventures and exchanges in the fields of industry and commerce as well as exchanging friendly delegations to promote economic development.”


The Mayor gave an assurance of his commitment to the relationship with the hope that it would yield good results for the people.

On his part, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Achiase, Richmond Agyabeng Amponsah, was enthused by the collaboration between his district and AMA especially in the areas of commerce and culture.


The DCE then led the Mayor and his entourage to tour the Achiase Jungle Warfare School (JWS) and its facility to have firsthand information of their activities at the Warfare.


The Team also paid homage to the Chief of Akyem Achiase , Takwahene , Dasebre Gyenim Kantan II and his subjects.
