MP cuts sod to begin work on Old Ashongman - Abokobi town roads
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome Kwabenya Constituency in the Greater Accra region, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has cut sod for construction work to begin on Old Ashongman - Abokobi town roads.

The total length of road to be covered is 2.9 kilometers, and is expected to cost GHs 5,651, 146.52.

The road infrastructure forms part of the Akufo Addo-led government's efforts to improve road networks in the Greater Accra region and the country as a whole.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony yesterday at Ashongman Lorry Station, Mrs Adwoa Safo who also doubles as Minister of State in Charge of Public Procurement said the project is expected to be completed in some 12 months, and called on the contractor to complete the project on time to serve its intended purpose.

According to her, a lot of hard work has been done to get most roads constructed to facilitate transportation in the constituency, stressing that most roads in Ashongman Estate, Dome, Kwabenya and Pillar 2 have been face lifted.

Mrs Safo also expressed her profound appreciation to the good people of Dome Kwabenya for the confidence reposed in her and the President.

She also lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr Kwesi Amoako Ata for bringing numerous road infrastructural projects to her constituency.

On her part, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga East Municipality, Mrs Janet Tulasi Mensah lauded the MP for being proactive in her developmental agenda, adding that the Assembly, as an agent of development, is also doing its part to better living conditions in the area.

She urged residents to cooperate with fully with the contractor to enable him complete the project in the scheduled period.
