At a colourful ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly on Thursday, 15th August 2019, seventeen (17) PWDs were given support in various forms.

Items presented included chest freezers, industrial sewing machines, a bass combo, a gas oven with accessories and cash.

The Municipal Social Welfare Officer, who is also the Acting Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Nancy Pertey, in a short address, advised the recipients to put whatever they would receive to good use.

Presenting the items to the PWDs, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mr Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, said it is the vision of the government to resource them so that they get off the streets.

Mr Kumor admonished them to work hard to increase their turnover and make them self-reliant.

A spokesman for the recipients thanked the Municipal Assembly and the government for the gesture and pledged their commitment to work hard to better their lot.
