Cleanup heralds 6th March in Atebubu
A massive cleanup exercise marked part of preparatory activities for the celebration of the 61st Independence Day in the Atebubu-Amantin municipality.

As early as 6.00am last Saturday, staff of the municipal assembly led by the municipal chief executive, Hon. Edward Owusu were joined by workers of Zoomlion Limited; members of various keep fit clubs and other individual to clean up the district hospital and the Atebubu main market.

The exercise which took close to four hours also saw drains in the center of town being desilted.

Hon. Edward Owusu expressed his gratitude to participants for the massive turn up and stressed his intention to make the exercise a regular feature adding that “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.

“The newly attained municipal status of Atebubu-Amantin comes with some responsibilities which we must endeavor to meet” the MCE said adding that it is important for the municipality to position itself in a way that it could enhance its chances of being made the capital of the proposed Bono East region.
