ATWIMA N N: Assembly sensitizes residents to honour tax obligations
In order to mobilize enough revenue to execute development projects, and ensure effective administration of the assembly, the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly in the Ashanti Region has begun a week long sensitization programmme to whip-up public interest in paying taxes, rates and levies.

The district office of the Information Services Department from July 29, 2019 to August 15, 2019 is educating the general public on the need to pay taxes, rates, and informing the general public about the achievement of the District since its inception in March, 2018.

According to Mr Thomas Awuah Asem, the District Information Officer, the new Assembly had been outstanding in utilizing its internally generated fund and the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) to provide infrastructure, social services, and among others.

He mentioned some of the achievements to include dredging of Anomakosa River at Asuofua, construction of modern court complex at Akropong, construction of 6-unit classroom block for Barekese Primary 'B', construction of 3-unit classroom block for Barekese Primary 'C'.



The rest are grading of Barekese-Ataase road, side blading of Owabi-Dabaa-Kapro road, dislodging and renovation of five - 20 -seater toilet facility at Osei Tutu SHS and grading of Asuofua - Achiase road among others.

The Assembly has also improving visibility and security at night on most of the roads, by fixing street lights with 500 street bulbs.

The Assembly has also planned among other things to construct market at Mfensi, grade Bonto-Nyamebekyere road, reconstruction of Asuofua - Asamang Bridge, reconstruction of Owabi bridge, construction of 3-unit classroom block for Fufuo D/A Primary, construction of 6-unit classroom block, completion of computer lab at Achiase, and construction of bridge on the Offin River at Amakye-Bare.

Some of the visited communities were Barekese, Asamang, Mfensi, Maaban, Amakye-Bare among others.
