The beneficiaries are natives of the Akrofuom District who are brilliant but needy and are studying in various tertiary institutions in the country.

Presenting their letters of scholarship to them, the District Chief Executive Hon. Maurice Jonas Woode congratulated the beneficiaries for being among those selected to benefit from the scheme.

He added that the Akrofuom District is the only district in the country which had as much as 84 beneficiaries, which is an indication of how committed the Assembly is towards the education sector in the district.

Mr. Woode said their selection is based on many factors and is subject to renewal, thus they should study hard to ensure that they qualify for next academic year. He added that they can again qualify for the next academic year scholarship based on good conduct in school.

However, their scholarship can also be withdrawn if their academic performance turns out to be unsatisfactory or they fail to submit reports of their academic performance to the Assembly for performance monitoring.

He also told them to be grateful to the administration of the New Patriotic Party who has decentralized the scheme which used to be managed in Accra, thereby denying most people in the grassroots.

The beneficiaries were grateful to the New Patriotic Party government led by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and the District Chief Executive, Maurice Jonas Woode for selecting them to benefit from the scheme.

They assured that they will study hard to repose the investment made into them by the Assembly and will do well to serve the district in any capacity after their studies.
