OFFINSO N: Akumadan Greenhouse admit second batch of trainees
The Akumadan Greenhouse Village in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti region has admitted 30 graduates to begin a 3-month course in practical Agricultural training.

The trainees, made up of 24 males and 6 females, will go through intensive training entailing principles of irrigation and fertilizer application among others.

With partnership from Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Agritop’s project from Israel, under the auspices of Ghana Irrigation Development Authority, the trainees were selected after their mandatory national Service after their training at least diploma in Agric to go under the course.



Speaking the matriculation ceremony, the District Chief Executive for the Area, David Kwasi Asare, said the state-funded training was to equip the youth to venture into greenhouse farming to drive home the economy through creating sustainable jobs for the youth.

He congratulated the trainees for the opportunity given to them and asked them to take the advantage of the facility to achieve their goals.



The General Manager of Agritop, Mr. Ofer Tamir asked the trainees to appreciate government efforts in putting such an amazing facility in place to train young men and women to gain sustainable employment through Agriculture.

He, therefore, appealed to them to take advantage of the facility to improve their lot.
