KINTAMPO: MCE advocates clean environment
Municipal Chief Executive of Kintampo, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe has bemoaned the insanitary surroundings in the towns and villages in the Kintampo Municipality.

Speaking at the first ordinary meeting of the fourth session of the Kintampo Municipal Assembly held last Thursday, May 30, 2019, the MCE called for an end to improper plastic waste disposal as well as an end to open defecation.

He disclosed that Zoomlion staff at the Assembly have been re-engaged and their salaries relatively improved to help facilitate the quest for environmental cleanliness.

On education, said challenges such as gender disparities, school drop-outs, and poor transition from primary to junior high school, poor teacher deployment and inadequate and poor school infrastructure was affecting the sector. He however noted that the municipality recorded increase in access to basic education.



He said the Assembly has also liaised with the Ghana Education Service to roll out mock examination for Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates, and lauded the deployment of trainees from the Nation Builders Corp (NABCO).

Interventions such as Planting for Food and Jobs, One Village One Dam, according to the MCE improved productivity in the agriculture sector.
