The facility is expected to serve more than 4,000 people living in the community and surrounding areas and the Municipal Health Directorate is going to organize staff and the needed support to man the facility.

It was initiated by a native of the community, Dr Dapaah Siakwan, and supported by the Assembly to bring quality healthcare closer to the people.

Mr Alexander Frimpong, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the provision of health infrastructure across the municipality was one of the key priorities of the Assembly.

He said addressing the health needs of the people was critical to productivity, which translates to national development.

He commended Dr Dapaah for the laudable initiative, which would impact the lives of thousands of people and called on other prominent citizens to emulate the gesture.

The Assembly is committed to supporting community-initiated projects, especially in the areas of health and education, he said.

Mr Frimpong highly praised members of the community for their communal spirit and urged them to cooperate with the health workers for the mutual benefit of both parties.

He underscored the need to ensure proper maintenance of the facility to prolong its lifespan.

Mr Reuben Osei Antwi, the Municipal Director of Health Services, commended Dr Siakwan and the Assembly for providing the facility to enhance health delivery in the area.
