Mankranso Community to get CHPS compound
The District Chief Executive for Offinso North, David Asare has disclosed the construction of a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to help provide healthcare services to the people of Mankranso, a farming community in the area.

The facility, which will provide accessible health care to more than 1,000 people, he noted, was constructed with funding from the assembly’s share of the common fund.

The DCE who disclosed this at a town hall meeting held at Tanokwaem. He said the development formed part of government’s intervention projects which is aimed at bringing quality healthcare delivery to the door-steps of the people at the lowest possible cost.

The town-hall meeting which was organized by Justice and Peace committee of the St. James Catholic Parish Akumadan, was on the theme:” Enhancing community participation in local governance for rapid and Sustainable Development” Effectiveness in local governance through Dialogue”

The participants included chiefs, assembly members, head of departments and opinion leaders, among others.



The aim was to provide a platform for the duty bearers in the Offinso North Assembly to engage the citizenry in a discussion on issues affecting the people and the development of the area.

The project, the DCE explained is expected to help provide services to other nearby communities and therefore requested residents to patronize the project when the need arises.

He also assured the people of Tanokwaem that very soon electricity will be extended to the area to solve their numerous problems especially with much concern to the restoration of drugs.at the CHIP compound.

He promised to meet the health directorate to see how to post a midwife and other nurses to take care of the health needs of the people.

On Education, the DCE assured the chiefs and people to complete the teachers’ quarters to ensure effective teaching and learning in the area.
