Sekyere Central Assembly holds town hall meeting
The Sekyere Central District Assembly in the Ashanti Region has hold its maiden town hall meeting in Nsuta, the district capital to interact with the citizenry towards improved development.

The meeting is aimed at bringing governance closer to the people through open interactions with opinion leaders and the general public and its organised by the Ministry of Information and Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

The District Chief Executive for the Area, Kwadwo Banahene Bediako in his address touched on some key developmental potentials of the district and also disclosed that some works have been done at the Atwea Mountain including extending electricity and water to the top of the mountain to increase economic activities which will help improve on revenue for the assembly.



According to him, the Assembly has already started work on a secure car park at the Atwea Mountain to enable public and private car users get a secured place to park their cars whenever they go up the mountain for their individual activities.

Mr. Banahene Bediako also touched on other areas such as water and sanitation, education, health, roads, security and many more and informed them of various works being done to improve these sectors. He called on the people to take advantage of his open door policy to get involved in the activities of the assembly so that they can make contributions for accelerated development of the district.



The Ashanti Regional Director of Information, Nana Akrasi Sarpong used the opportunity to highlight on the government’s flagship policies and programmes that the NPP administration led by H. E Nana Akufo Addo has been implementing since they assumed office such as the “planting for food and jobs”, NABCO, “free SHS”, “one district one factory”, “one district one warehouse” et al.

He urged the people to be united, to support each other to bring peace and development in the district.



In attendance were the DCE, Member of Parliament (MP), Presiding Member (PM), Nananom, Zongo chiefs, assembly Members, heads of department and the general public
