SEKYERE C: Farmers take delivery of cashew seedlings
The District Chief Executive of Sekyere Central, Kwadjo Banahene Bediako has distributed 150,000 seedlings of cashew to Nananom for onward free distribution to all interested farmers to improve and increase cashew production in area.

Distributing the seedlings to the Chiefs, the DCE noted that the distribution forms part of the government's 10-year Cashew Development Plan to increase Cashew production and bring development to the doorstep of the farming communities.

He added that the program is in line with Government’s policy for rural development under Planting for Export and Industrialization, where all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives have been given the oversight responsibility for the production of not only cashew seedlings, but also for seedlings of oil palm, shea, cotton, rubber, and coffee, for distribution to farmers.



Mr. Banahene further promised to support farmers technically for a successful cashew production in the district.
