Abusuapayin Kofi Duodu of the Kwaakwa Siampong Asekyere Family of Adamorobe, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to flush out the land guards in the area.

He said the land guards have invaded Adamorobe, a town near Aburi in the Eastern Region and are robbing and killing innocent people.

Abusuapayin Duodu, who made the appeal on behalf of the people of Adamorobe at a press conference, said on April 16, this year his younger brother, Tettey Jacob, a 52-year-old carpenter was found dead in his uncompleted building, allegedly killed by unknown persons believed to be land guards.

Abusuapayin Duodu said upon report, the Aburi Mampong Police, through investigations arrested two suspects for allegedly being behind the killing of the carpenter and gave their names as Dr George Amartey Kesseih, a medical practitioner at Osu and Adin Kwame, a farmer at Adamorobe.

The Abusuapayin said the Mampong Akuapem District Magistrate Court remanded the suspects in prison custody, but were later released, adding that, the discharge of the suspects would not help in stopping the killing of the people.

He said so far about six people of Adamorobe had lost their lives in the hands of land guards in the area.

Mr Odum Mensah, President of the Progressive People Union (PPU) of Adamorobe, who presided over the conference, said the area urgently needed law enforcement personnel to protect lives and properties.

He said the suspect, Dr George Kesseh had boasted last year of hiring 20 land guards to the area and terrorized and brutalized the people of Adamorobe, to claim 70 acres of land, which case was pending before the Akropong Police.
