School children in about twenty one basic schools in the Binduri district will now enjoy being fed with some meals in school, following a move by the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Noah Ben Azure to increase the number of beneficiary schools on the School Feeding Programme.

The SFP has considerably opened up to include some schools in places like Bansi, Zawse Kpalugu, Basua DC, Bazua M.A, Yalugu, Sakpari and Benguri. The others are Nayoko No.1&2, Boko,Narango, Aniisi, Kukparigu, Kade, Tansia, Atuba, Tambiigu, Binduri and the rest.

This intervention by the MP will virtually give impetus to increase enrollment in the basic schools within the district and also help encourage children stay in school to improve their academic laurels.

The MP has also indicated in a recent interview with Ghanamps.gov.gh that since the district was separated from Bawku the SFP has seen major improvements in its operations, and some shortfalls that used to slow the smooth implementation of the programme have also been addressed.

According to him, the payment system which had some irregularities and was consistently a serious issue to contend with is also being discharged efficiently in the catchment areas.

He claimed he was yearning to see more schools added to expand the implementation of the programme in his constituency.

He said he has targeted to incorporate 10 additional schools in different communities, therefore liaising with the National co-ordinator of the School Feeding Programme concerning this, to help advance the SFP.

The earmarked communities are Gotisaliga, Kuloko, Naryirie, Vako, and Kulivai amongst others.
