MCE interacts with pupils on “My First Day at School”
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben North, Madam Comfort Asante has visited 5 schools under the Assembly to monitor enrollment of fresh pupils as 2018/2019 academic year begins.

The exercise which is termed as "My first day at school" saw the MCE together with the head of department of planning and statistics at the Municipal Education Office toured some schools in the Municipality to give encouragements and motivation to the newly admitted pupils at the basic schools particularly kindergarten and primary 1 pupils.



Addressing the pupils, the MCE said, as part of the His Excellency the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo's initiative to ensuring quality education in the country, the pupils should be punctual at school, dress neatly to school, pay attention in class and show respect to both parents and teachers.



The MCE was pleased with how active the pupils were at my first day at school and praised the teachers for the efforts they are making to ensure that the pupils were provided with quality education.

She however advised them to focus more on giving them their best at the basic levels.



Some of the schools the MCE visited were Efiduase R.C Kindergarten A/B, Oyoko Methodist Primary and Kindergarten A&B, Asikasu Presby Primary Kindergarten A&B, Akwadum M/A Kindergarten and Akwadum Islamic Kindergarten.

Madam Cecilia Boakye, the head of Planning and Statistics at the Municipal Education Office, expressed her profound gratitude to the MCE and the government of Ghana.



She said the exercise would serve as motivation for the students to attend school regularly. She suggested that more of such initiatives should be implemented in order to get parents to enroll their wards at the various schools in the municipality.


Madam Comfort Asante gave out whiteboards, pencil cases, pencils, crayons, erazors, sharpener, books, drinks, biscuits and 40 pieces of uniforms for Akwadum M/A KG and Primary 1 pupils.
