Akwamuman SHS gets new Admin Block
The Asuogyaman District Assembly in the Eastern region has commissioned a new Administration Block at Akwamuman Senior High School in Akosombo, the district capital, to help improve administrative work of the school.

Speaking at the event, Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Eric Kwakye Darfour advised the Headmaster of the school to complete one project before moving onto another one, in order not to leave too many uncompleted projects in the school.

He however, assured the school that he was going to advocate for the completion of other projects in the school. Mr Darfour once again reiterated to the students to take advantage of the facilities available to them as they may one day they end up becoming DCEs and Ministers of the region.


The Minister also relayed the importance of French as a Subject and said it is handy to speak French because Ghana is surrounded by French speaking countries and also the President Nana Akufo Addo speaks good French.

He thus remarked that he will give GHS 1000 to students who do well in French and get grade A in the exams, from his own resources.

District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum On his part, advised the students to take their studies serious so that the government’s interventions and good policies do not go to waste.


He further thanked the contractor for the completion of the project and also thanked the teachers of the school who help in the day to day education of the students.

He disclosed that the Assembly in 2017 took an inventory of all GETFUND projects were taken and he made the commitment to making sure that the uncompleted projects to which Akwamuman SHS’s Administration Block was part will be completed.

He spoke about other projects under the One Million Dollar per Constituency such as the provision of Ultra-Modern Toilet Facility being constructed at Akwamuman SHS.


The Headmaster of Akwamuman SHS Mr. Stephen Aglah also thanked the Government for the project and gave a brief history of the school administration block which in the past used to be situated in a staff bungalow.

He said that the new Administration Block has come at the right time and will go long way to help in the day to day running of the School.
