Kintampo North NPP inaugurates Women’s Wing
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in The Kintampo North Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has inaugurate the women’s wing as the party braces itself for the 2020 general elections.

The inauguration was on the theme, “Empowering Women for Victory 2020”.

Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo North in his address noted and emphasized the immense role of women in politics. The MCE also stated that politics was a game of numbers and for him, apart from God, women were the next to be held in high esteem by all and so they should be motivated to seek to go out and draw numbers for the party. He thanked all the opportunity to serve and announced his participation in the Parliamentary primaries while asking for unify and tolerance in the run up to the general elections.

Addressing the gathering of polling station executives of the party within the five (5) zones of the Kintampo North Constituency and some women groups within the party, the constituency women organizer, Madam Rosemary Effah, called for greater unity and focus as election 2020 approaches. Madam Effah alluded to the fact that, polities was an upheaval task for women but called on them to remain steadfast and rub shoulders with the men to ensure victory in 2020.

The Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party here in Kintampo North, Mr. Abubakari Sadick, who took time to reiterate the party’s achievements and policies like the Free Senior High School policy, Planting for Food and Jobs, One Constituency, One Million Dollars among others asked all and sundry to be proud of these achievements and do everything possible to propagate and spread the benefit of the policies.

Madam Sophia Afriyie Danso, the Bono East Regional women organizer together with the regional Chairman, Mr. Thomas Adu-Appiah took the opportunity to admonish all rural folks especially to take up the policy of Planting for Food and Jobs as well as Planting for export and rural development to boost their livelihoods. Together, the duo also asked for unity and hard work towards election 2020 and called on all to ensure victory especially in the parliamentary election and oust the National Democratic Congress for the first time.



The Women’s Wing was then dually inaugurated by the special guest of honor, Madam Kate Gyamfuah, National Women’s organizer before her Keynote address, Madam Kate praised the efforts of the constituency women’s organizer and her team in mobilizing women and organizing the event.

She said in speaking to the theme, “Empowering Women for Victory 2020”, women are the most affected when it comes to the implications of political decisions yet they are those who shy away from polities the most she said, “this year let us not hide, but come out together to complement the efforts of the men to ensure we keep them (NDC) in opposition.

She further added that, preparedness of the government through the ministry of Gender to support women groups. She asked the women to spread and talk of the achievements of the government in the markets, solons and workplaces to ensure victory whiles asking all present at the gathering to discard complacency.
