We’re committed to social accountability – Offinso North DCE

The District Chief Executive for Offinso North in the Ashanti Region, David Kwasi Asare Boakye (Adwumawura) has indicated that the New Patriotic Party government led by Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo is committed to strengthening and empowering grass roots governance structures to engender social accountability.

"We, the New Patriotic Party led by our dynamic President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is much committed to strengthening and empowering grassroot governance structure though decentralization to engender social accountability" the DCE noted.

The District Chief Executive made this observations in his address to the Assembly members of the District Assembly during a workshop to sensitize members on the structure of governance to the grassroot at the Methodist Church in Akumadan on Valatine’s day.

Mr. David Kwasi Asare Boakye maintained that democratic consolidation is achieved when the lowest level of government is enhanced hence the essence of the training to provide Assembly Members with fresh ideas to enrich contributions of members and enable them demand their rights from duty bearers.

The DCE further stressed that Akuffo Addo's government prioritized grass roots democracy and announced that motorbikes for Assembly members were ready for distribution to aid the work of members.
