Inter-Organisational Relationships

Section 32(i) of the Local Government Act 1993 (Act 462) indicates that a District Assembly may in agreement with any one or more District Assemblies, appoint a joint committee for any project in which they are jointly interested. In the same vein, Section 13 of the Act stipulates that subject t the approval of the Minister, a District Assembly in carrying out any commercial activity that falls within the scope of their respective functions.

These two sections of the Act clearly indicate that SCDA has the opportunity to forge closer relationships with other District Assemblies and organizations as far as the development of the district is concerned.
