Krowor Assembly welcomes stakeholders to commemorate World Malaria Day

The Municipal Chief Executive of Krowor Municipal Assembly Mr. Joshua Nii Bortey welcomed stakeholders to the Krowor Municipality to commemorate World Malaria Day 2024.

The Krowor Municipality was chosen for the National Celebrations because it is the 1st out of the 21 districts that has low malaria transmissions status out of the 261 districts in Ghana.

Speaking on phone with Ghanadistricts.com, the MCE stated that Krowor has achieved this feat because of how it has managed sanitation issues in the Municipality, And the targeted year to eliminate malaria entirely from Krowor is 2028.

Mr. Nii Bortey further said, the theme for the commemoration was Health Equity, Cornerstone for Malaria Elimination and the Key priorities were , Strengthening surveillance, Scaling Up vector control, Promoting Community Engagements and Research and innovations which will ensure the stay ahead of the evolving parasites and mosquito resistance.
